I loved Rise of an African Elemental and the only reason why I haven t given it five stars is in case there is another book in the series which I like even than this one It is an extremely well structured and well plotted novel and there isn t a dull moment It is full of unconventional and interesting characters My favourite character is Stacey, and although I should be sympathetic to her plight, it s just giving me way too much entertainment This book isn t for the faint of heart as there are [...]
Rise of an African ElementalThis is a confusing, sad book I see so many twisted lives The people seem to both cherish their young and then actually use them, to the point of taking their young lives For what Power.ems to be the answer Control over the lives of others The tale brings in so many ancient beliefs from their AFRICAN HERITAGE The beliefs in so many gods and entities who will ask for I and require BLOOD NOT JUST BLOOD , BUT THAT OF INNOCENT CHILDREN I HOPE THIS IS ALL FABRICATEDIT S SO [...]
A great story, and I m anxious for Mark of an African Elemental to come along now I appreciate that Shania is a DV survivor and that this is taken seriously as a part of her character, and I also appreciate that McCalla included discussion questions at the end of the novel to get people to think critically about the story rather than passively absorbing the narrative.
Frustratingly good This book is frustratingly good in that the main character is just such a weakling She literally drive me to drink I had to put the book down several times because of it Which really speaks to the writer s power Compelling storyline and fast but frustrating action is there in spades I m going to see if the next installment is available right now.
