This book was begun by John Steinbeck s youngest of two sons John Steinbeck IV The son s untimely death led his widow to complete the book with her own input and often harsh but eye opening opinions At times the book becomes repetitious and drawn out in places But, overall it is a very interesting read giving the reader an open window to the world of the famous father s family dynamics.
